Help with my Fulton Armory build...Undergassed? 1 pic

Hi All, so I'm so close to getting this done, but have one last issue.

    First, the rife:

My 2nd AR but my first 'build.' Fulton Armory Upper and lower. 16" Carbine. Bought the lower back in September, bought the upper (in a parts kit, assembled by me) a few weeks ago to finish before 12/31. So no mixing and matching of parts, for the most part, except the stock/buffer is X Products' R.O.C. and a Timney trigger.

My first issue was light primer strike, but that was easily diagnosed and fixed as me going a little too crazy with Tetra grease on...everything. Lesson learned....oil (not grease) on the firing pin. (I've never used Tetra grease before.)

The issue I need help with is that its now short stroking.
Load a round, pull the trigger, 'bang'...and next is a click: No round in the chamber.

I know its not the buffer spring/buffer because I put the brand new lower on a different upper and it cycled just fine.

So NOW, I'm a little at a loss....I did notice that my gas block is just a TINY bit off center....see the pic below, it looks like its maybe 1/32" off. How precise is the gas block's internal hole relative to the barrel's hole?

    Any other suggestions?

Pic of the bottom of the gas block...slightly off center. I'm assuming the hand guard is lined up perfect relative to the barrel as the top rail is perfectly aligned.

Is this off by too much and creating a bottleneck? If not, what else should I look at?

    TIA

The gas block hole is slightly oversized so you have some play. Take off the handguatd and look at the gas block and tube, if they are leaking and not sealing good it will have a dark area of carbon residue, it can also be an issue with the gas key on the bcg

Thx, I only took 5 or 6 shots before I swapped uppers so i didnt see anything like a leak, but probably not enough to show up.

The buffer spring is quite a bit more stiff than my other, but the buffer is a lot smaller and again, it worked fine on my older upper.

      Sunday AM bump.
