    AR10 accuracy

What would you consider acceptable accuracy from an 18in bbl AR10 with a decent scope? Mine shoots 3/4 to 1 MOA with premium ammo. Do you think this is good, bad, mid road?

I don't really understand the question?

Most rifles will outshoot the nut behind the trigger so most don't even realize how accurate their setup is.

With that being said, there are many variables before one can determine whether the rifle in question is capable of 1 MOA or less. Let's not forget a lot of shooters don't reload, which helps accuracy a ton once one finds the right load.

1 moa with store bought ammo? That is fine. You'll have to handload to see if it will do better but if it was me I would be very excited if a gun shot 1 inch with commercial ammo. That's a 10 shot group right?...LOL.

I think the cat already settled the question of whether or not his rifle is capable of 1 moa or better by the most reliable means. He shot it, it shot .75 - 1 moa. It is 1 moa or better.

But that wasn't his question. He was asking if that is considered good enough (I'm paraphrasing here).

In my opinion, if you can shoot 3/4" - 1"@ 100 yards consistently, unless you're into the benchrest game (and you're probably not going to do that with a semi-auto AR10), it's good enough.

Now if you can do that off-hand, I'm truly impressed!!

I shoot 1 shot groups @ .310 moa all day every day with my LR308. Even with my eyes closed.

JK, i get .9" @ 200 yards with my 308. I say its good for what it is. Much better than my bolt gun. But to the bolt guns defense, i havent played with the load to fit its liking.

My next step is to load a pet load for it. It likes 175gr pills best, I have two more 175gr factory loads to try and when I figure out the one it shoots best..I will replicate that load with reloads. I know the drill

+1. To me, 1 MOA is the minimum requirement. Anything less than 1, down to .6 is awesome sauce. .5 is fantastic. But I'm not sure I'm prepared to spend what a half MOA gun probably costs. Which gun did you end up getting? I can't remember.
