    Mini 14 factory magazine stuck

I'm completely new to this platform. Picked up my new mini recently, and just tried playing with it. The (empty) factory 5-round magazine is completely stuck in the magwell. Like, rock hard stuck and will not budge. Anyone experience this? Is there a trick or something that I don't know?

Factory mags can be tight in the magwell. Mini 14 mags rock into place, like an AK mag, they don't go in straight, like an AR mag. The rear will pop loose.

At the top rear of the mag is where the latch grabs it. That seemed to be where mine were tight until they loosened up a bit. You can probably get a drop of lube on the spot from above with the bolt retracted.

Can you remove the trigger group with the mag in place?

Kevin De Leon is a warlock. He put a hex on your magazine..

Hold the release with the bolt locked back and jam a cleaning rod into the magazine through the open action. Flush fit magazines are notoriously difficult to get out. Sometimes. Maybe a wood dowel is better than a cleaning rod section.

The only factory mags I have are 5rnd mags they fall out when you push mag release, but if you hold rifle upside down or on its side push release and try to pull it out or flip it back the mag will be stuck. You have to push it back in and hold it up right then it falls out when you release it, but that is only with 5rnd mags. 10+ round mags don't do that with mine but none are factory mags

Got it! Some lube and a swift jab from a set of chopsticks through the open action dislodged it. Just tried 4 different non-factory 10 round mags and they popped out easily. Thanks again, taking it out this weekend!

Your mags are the ones that worked perfectly, by the way.
