I just started the 10 day wait period for a Sig 516 I bought in San Bruno yesterday but now I am thinking with the law changes in CA. I might want to build a .308 down the line.
So if I get a lower I just need to get a serial engraved by Jan1, 2018 unless I want to register down the line?
Besides the lower do I need to get everything else less the barrel?
Looking at lowers right now but want to make sure I am approaching this the right way.
I know people most on here aren't lawyers but any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am located in the east bay in CA.
The primary use of the rifle will be hunting and plinking with long range accuracy shooting sprinkled in time permitting.
Also open to lower reccos.
