Do I Need to Include a Pin in Muzzle Brake for 2017?

I was told by a Turner sales guy that, to make AR15 barrel featureless, in addition to replacing the suppressor with something else like a muzzle brake, the muzzle brake itself has to have a security pin on it.

I understand that if one wanted to keep the buttstock they would have to put a pin on it (I am contemplating inserting a couple of small screws and some gentle glue); but the muzzle brake???

Only needs to be pinned and welded if barrel is less than 16".

      no

don't believe what some turner's employee tells you

if you want to be featureless, you can't have a flash hider -- (and a couple other things)

pinning and welding comes into play if you do not meet an overall barrel length requirement of 16" if you do, then there is no need to pin and weld any device onto the barrel --- you can even forego a brake or a hider, and just use a thread protector if you wanted

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

A threaded barrel isn't an evil feature on a rifle.

Learned a long time ago, that if they work at a gun store, more than likely they haven't a clue what they're talking about.
