For those of you that assumed I was talking about magazines, you are wrong.

I was talking about any variation of these:

Why yes, I do keep loaded clips for my fully semi-automatic AR-15 assault machine gun. Also I keep a bullet button on it just in case I need to remove it in case I need to empty a whole clip with a push of a button. I also have an adjustable stock on it that will give me +1 drawing speed, an evil vertical front grip that gives me +2 damage, and a flash hider that makes my gun silent and completely conceals the flash.

Jokes aside, do ranges frown upon people bringing loaded mags (not inside the gun, obviously)?
Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

51 posts now on a post about storing semi-auto rifle MAGAZINES (we all knew what he meant, leave the poor guy alone) loaded for home defense, and nobody has mentioned that it's a good idea to use dust covers on any PMAGs you might be using. It helps keep the pressure of the top rounds off the feed lips, preventing them from deforming over time. It's not really a problem for any other magazines, but PMAGs can be sensitive about this. Other than that, no problem keeping mags loaded for the long or short term.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Never did say anything about magazines. I was talking about clips.

But, I knew people would take it the wrong way....

Ah gotcha, I didn't see which type of rifle it was for, so I made the assumption since it was a semi-auto rifle used for home defense that it was probably an AR or AK, not something that actually used clips, my bad

Hmmm, so did I. Maybe the screen name "ARDude" seemed to imply mag fed?

I wouldn't imagine using a clip fed rifle for HD but to each their own.

Serves me right for seeing "update in post #28" in the OP, and then reading every other post but somehow missing post #28

                        HaHa you guys....

In my case it is for AR type rifles. I do have loaded mags for home defense, but I also have loaded stripper clips in a couple of bandoleers....just in case.

My original post was nothing to do with magazines. Although, as I said, I knew people would jump all over me about using the word "clip".

I did that on purpose as a Halloween prank.

Anyway, keep the thread going. I like seeing those pics of older and new firearms using "clips".
