    308 bolt hold question

Only issue I have with my lr308 build is bolt hold open on last shot, I've tried different catches , could it be a mag issue? , using pmag, ..could it be the mag?

    Does it work manually?

    What brand upper and lower?

How is ejection and cycling when firing?

Stock, buffer combo would be good to know as well.

If everything is in order, common consensus is to get an adjustable gas block if you do not have one already.

If it works manually, then try a different buffer spring. Brownells spring works.

I have had trouble with bolt catches not working when I added a bad *** lever to it and also the ones that are one piece that come around to the trigger guard .There's just too much mass there for it to function fast enough .Slowing the action down with an adjustable block or heavier buffer might work .

My aero upper really only liked my aero lower when it comes to the bolt hold open. I could lock it manually but the mag wouldn't do the job. I would see if you could find someone close to you with an aero lower that you can try with your upper.

The bad lever is the most well named useless gizmo available.

IT could be the position of the catch relative to the thickness of the upper receiver wall. If the upper is thicker than the lower was designed for the catch doesn't have enough travel

What ammo were you using? have you check your gas block alignments? leaks from gas block/tube, Bolt carrier key?
