    AR Lower thread

I'm not sure if this has been asked before.

If I purchase a AR Lower, epoxy it basically to a 80% is it still considered an 80%

Maybe I can keep a pair of plugs with my gun, and maybe Ill have enough time to put them in... But what about my Wife? My 7 year old? Should they have to be deaf the rest of their lives too?

It would be an AR lower filled with epoxy. Personally i recommend cement just to be sure!

        No.
80% has to be manufactured in that configuration. That's why they need to get a determination later from the BATF.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

ATF has said that not even a manufacturer can do that. In order to make it no longer a firearm you need to destroy it in an ATF approved manner.

you can make an 80% lower into a 100% lower

            you can't make a 100% lower, an 80% lower

are you talking about buying an 80% lower, milling it out, and then filling it with epoxy to create an 80% lower again?

What are you trying to do?
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

Don't bother with the 100% lowers, they're a waste of time filling in all those extra holes. Get an 80% and put your own holes in it wherever you want. I like using 165gr 9mm bangers.

Nope other companies have tried. ATF said once a lower, only way for t not to be a lower is to destroy it in an ATF approved manner.

I had the idea of filling the FCg pocket with glass or candle wax. Then I did research and learned it's a no go

They don't even let manufacturers start with an insert the shape of what you can remove and then cast the rest of it around there...
