Big Boy ARs Questions - Noreen Assassin 300 Win Mag

As our time winds down where we lose even more of our rights to own firearms, I have always wanted to own a big boy AR - and since I have bolt actions in 300 Win Mag (for commonality) - I figured I would try to pick up or build an AR in 300 Win Mag. I did originally want to look into a Nemo rifle, but honestly, they're too flashy and over the top. So I found this Noreen company, but until today, I really didn't know the name.

Does anyone have any experience with their company or products? Has anyone ever handled one of these?

Do you know of any other companies outside of Noreen or Nemo that make a 300 Win Mag AR that I should consider?

    Thank you!

What's wrong with Nemo .The Noreen is cheaper of course ,because it's a AR-15 just a bigger caliber.Nothing differant. The Nemo has triple recoil system. The muzzle break,The recoil spring in the bolt carrier and the buffer spring in the stock. It shoots like a 308 bolt gun.

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with them, I just think they're too flashy and a bit over priced. I just want a more simple AR in a larger caliber and one that I'm not afraid to throw into backpack and hump out to bag some Elk.

300 Win Mag doesn't really kick that much from my experience with my Rem 700 and my Win M70, so the triple recoil system isn't really needed.. maybe better suited with 416 and above? I am just looking for an accurate rifle in the AR form. I use a 308 AR for boar and deer - but I would like something semi auto for larger game and that's why I'm here

From what you've said, Noreen is the way to go. Do you have experience with larger caliber ARs?

What's the purpose of the rifle? What are you going to use it for?

I don't know if you decide yet but I just order one. Everybody says their customer service is excellent. The couple times I call just to ask questions they were super nice. Noreen cut his teeth on building long range rifles and everybody says sub-MOA is no problem. I can't wait to get mine. If I get in time I might even use it for elk hunting this year.

The Noreen is a short stroke piston gun so not exactly just a bigger AR-15.

I have a omen, I'm pretty happy with it after i sent it in for the adjustable gas block.

Nice gun. It seems that most of the mags require adjustments. Are you shooting 180?

Why not look at a 300 WSM built on a standard AR10 lower? The parts are all standard AR10, the mags are standard, and the recoil isn't heavy.

I'm done with short mags(I tried). They don't feed very well, don't shot as well and I think will pass (or are passing). Case life is short and the neck/shoulder has to be heat treated every cycle to seal.

They just can't hang with what they where to replace and when you spend that kind of money non-sub-MOA groups just don't cut it.

Noreen doesn't have that great a build quality TBH. You'd be much happier with a Nemo.

Asked a long range shooter for advice. He suggested not to get a semi in magnum cartridge. Bolt guns are better.
I would buy a barrett if I could though.

Thought about getting a 300 wm and got a noreen first gen 3006.
Anyhow I thought the SR25 match rifle was cool as hell and it kinda reminds me of one.
It's about the same size as the m14s. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

2024 New Year?s resolution will be no posting..

Your Noreen will outshoot your M14 all day long. I sold my Barrett because they aren't very accurate. Good Long range semi autos are rare. I put up my two very mint/rare M14s for sale so I could buy my Noreen.

                            Have a NEMO. No regrets.
