    LWRC vs Daniel Defense

    So...
    Who makes the better AR?
    Fit, reliability and accuracy.
Say I want to spend no more than $1900 out the door.

That's almost a DI vs. piston argument though LWRC does have some DI offerings now.

I would probably get a DD because it's cheaper and I'm a fan of their CHF barrels. Also, I like the company better.

But a nice LWRC with a spiral fluted barrel sure is a thing of beauty. I had one. Sold it. Something was off for me with the AR piston recoil. Probably just wasn't used to it. I liked looking at it though. It sure was pretty.

If accuracy is real important, I would build one with a high dollar barrel like a kreiger, larue, Ranier ultra match, JP Enterprises, Noveske, etc.

My 2 favorite AR's have a DD and Larue barrel.

But back to your question- fit and finish the LWRC probably has the edge. But for a hard use rifle I would go with the Daniel Defense.

Daniel Defense is a better rifle imo vs LWRC.

Imo there is no reason for a piston gun unless running suppressed.

If I were to be in the market for another piston, I would look at a PWS before another LWRC

LWRC is going to run you around $2400 unless you get the DI which is around $1500.

Iv got a IC SPR and love it.

I recently picked up a complete LWRC lower. I'm going to add a DI upper to it next year. It will be for my wife since it's lighter.

              DD are really nice

I had both. I loved my DD better. It had a nicer recoil impulse, it was already on target at 100meters with a vortex viper 1x4 PST scope. The Ldub took a while for some reason. It didn't wanna stay on target.

What are you basing your opinion on? TRAP had a DD and a LWRC piston they did a test, they didn't clean or replace parts till the gun stopped working. They lubed them as needed but didnt clean them. The DD is still running and had a bolt break after 70 plus thousand rounds through it. Thats a low estimate based off 100 rounds a day for two years. The LWRC died after half that. They're expensive, they're propertie so you can't swap stuff out on them and as far as I know no SF, SOF units use them unlike the Daniels. They are nice guns for the guy who takes his gun out once a month and shoots a hundred rounds, they're beautiful guns. Would I spend the money on them. No, but thats just me. If i had unlimited funds id buy one just because i think they're nice looking guns. They are a nice piston gun. Good piston guns cost more than good DI guns. They have a new DI gun out now I'm interested to see if they fair any better. OP if you like them and want to stay in that price range look at their DI gun they're in that price range.

The MSRP on the DI LWRC is 1500

The MSRP on the DD v7 slim is 1599.99

You'll find both both cheaper than MSRP obviously.
At the end of the day you have to pick what's best for you. I was talking to a buddy of mine who was a contractor for the military and has done a lot of high speed low drag stuff about both rifles a while ago and he said he'd take a Daniel to war and not worry about it. Knowing a small amount of the skill he has and the things he's done tells me they're good to go.

Just my humble opinion based on what I've seen and the research I've done. Take it as you will. Good luck in your search my friend. Either way you'll win.

Given the choice I would take the lwrc in a second. I'm not a big fan of the huge keymod rails on the Daniel. Lwrc is very fine weapon.

I have a IC SPR. No regrets on the higher price. I don't think you'll find one to fit your price limit though.
