Guess I should have bought that Zenith MP-5 clone I had a chance at for $900.00 new a few years ago? ;-) Had a Vector Uzi, shot it once and sold it. Neutered sub guns are boring as hell to shoot and look dorky with long barrels and none collapsing stocks. Some of these look really cool but experiences like GI Combats would sour me on ever buying/building one of these. Best of luck to all of you pursuing this but it sounds like an incredible amount of money you are paying mostly just for looks and the sort of HK mystique. Rock on.

the first ones that came in via ATI are not as good as the current Zenith offerings. There were barreled actions being sold for 500 bucks a couple weeks ago.

I agree. Not being able to SBR these in California sucks major ***. I remember kind of wanting one a few months ago, then I started to realize an MP5 clone with a 16 inch barrel for $2000 just seems kind of dumb (no offense to guys who like these things). I'll buy a SBR'd MP5 clone once I move out of state or Trump manages to do the impossible in the next 8 years.

MP5's are just expensive. Good kits for builds average over 2000 just for parts. Even Zenith is 1600 for the pistol. They are nice because they have a threaded 3 lug barrel. Only thing that is not great is that if you want to do 922r you will need to get rid of the double pushpins and put a semi shelf.
