I went to one of our LA gun shops today convinced that I will buy a c39v2 despite all the bad things I've read about it. Thought I would give it a chance since, supposedly, they did something to the most recent version starting 2016 and the bolt is stamped with a "y" or something like that meaning it was heat treated correctly (according to a source at Century). I picked it up, loved the balance and the finish once again....opened it and looked at the bolt. The new unfired gun had a bolt showing some wear (some sides of it were pretty shiny) and that's from just test firing at the factory. I looked closer and noticed that a piece of metal was literally chipped and you can feel it with your nail and it feels like soft metal. I compared it to Arsenal's bolt side by side....night and day difference. I think that if it has to be my only AK (in my case) and I won't be able to get another one after the ban, this Century at $1079 is a pretty expensive mistake to make.

Guys, do you know of a place in the LA area that will do the transfer if I get something from Atlantic Arms? Two gun shops told me they won't accept it from Atlantic, no idea why. Thanks!

A wise decision when we are down to the wire and theres very little time to get your dream ak. Keep searching. Also, you guys need to check out the psak gen 2 review that ak operators union has been putting through the ringer on youtube. Most impressive american AK i have ever seen. Even robski is impressed. PSA is doing it right and taking peoples opinions into consideration.

Go to the FFL Finder tab on their main page, then search under CA

That's just the list of FFLs that they've shipped to in the past & thus they already have the info on file. If you want to ship to someone else you can, but you'll need that shop to send their info in to Atlantic.

I would NOT trust any of Century's builds that they make. They are shaddy *** company. The only good thing is that they are a MAJOR importer of rifles from around the former blocks of the Soviet Union. They are a big deal in the importer game, but they fall short in terms of building.

I had a M70 OPAP made in Serbia that I bought in late 2013, the rear sight was canted ( sight leaf). They told me my mag lock " voided the warranty". You can look under my name and M70, etc. Century is quick to take Californians money but when a warranty issue comes up, they'll make up every excuse before fixing your rifle.

Hell.., I had mine sitting at the FFL like they requested for service due to " California laws". They never followed up and accused on of their own employees of not being " trained". ultimately, I ended up exchanging it through Classic City Firearms. But I can't imagine how shoddy all of their AK's are.. Especially since they treated a warranty issue like they did with me.

I've used PSI Arms twice from Atlantic. Best part is the transfer fee is only $20 ea.

I like Saiga and VEPR AK . They are very well made. The century RAS47 I had also showed wear marks. I was surprised it worn so much.
