Bought two lowers - no going back.

I just bought the lowers below to eventually build a featureless AR (so not to register). This will be my first build and uncertain which kit to buy. Would like a kit without a bullet button and was about to order one from PSA. But I called them first and they said they wouldn't ship a button-less kit to California. Any suggestions on another kit to buy (or vendors to patronize)?

    FWIW, 2 for $175

They're shipping a buttonless kit to me, I did order the button separately though.

That was a great deal too! 1 Aero lower with dros was 154 at my local shop...

If you just bought the lowers, then they are already part of the longgun registry.

If your concern is avoiding a govt list, too late. If the day ever comes when the govt decides to confiscate ARs, there is no reason to believe that they'll just use the AW registry to track down owners. You can be pretty certain that they'll use the rifle/pistol registry information as well.

That said, I'd just get the BB kits, and register the two as RAWs next year. If you must go featureless, simply toss the BBs from the kit and order 2 standard AR mag buttons from somebody else.

Not to get off topic, but once a completed AR is registered (full features), it can't be sold or gifted to a relative. That's one key reason why I decided to build. I also have a M&P Sport II that I will convert to featureless (for the same reason). Going through DROS isn't the same as having to register once 1/1/18 comes.

          Riflegear has LPKs

I would get the $39 one and buy a drop in CMC trigger.

The Original Drop-In AR-15 Trigger. CMC Triggers is Texas-based and family-owned and operated. We strive to build the best aftermarket gun parts money can buy.

Sure it can. If the relative is out of state, no problem.

If the RAW is later converted to featureless, in-state is no problem.

What are AK and AR-15 series weapons? What is considered a .50 BMG rifle under California law? Can assault weapons and .50 BMG rifles still be registered? I already paid the Dealer's Record of Sale (DROS) fee and went through a DOJ record check when I purchased the firearm. Does that satisfy the registration requirement?

There is a short window for RAWs, and if next year you decide you want one, you'll be SOL.

My advice is have as many legal options as you can. You can always build featureless guns next year.

I called before placing an order thinking there *might* be a problem. Can you tell me which you bought (can you provide a link?). Thanks.

I've bought several different Lpks from PSA without bbs without issue. The guy on the phone may just be spreading FUD or was confusing their policies on lowers with heir policies for Lpks. Guarantee you any lpk will ship just fine

I've gotten a couple of triggerless LPKs from White Oak Armament. Good price and a good kit, assuming you want to supply a different trigger yourself. Or just buy the aftermarket trigger from them as well.

And their kits ship with a standard mag release button. No hassle, no BS about that.

i feel like if you just purchased those lowers then might as well register. They already know you have it. For myself, I stopped buying lowers prior to jan 1 2014.. Therefore, none of my lowers are registered.

can't link at work due to filters but i bought the Classic LPK ($49.99) just 2 weeks ago and then a Freedom build kit that included the buffer tube/stock (forgot the price already) during labor day.
