    ACR issue

Finally took my ACR out to shoot. Its brand new and this was the first time shooting this ACR, I owned another before. When I was shooting it something was flying back and hit me in the nose. I was bleeding pretty good. I felt the next round on my shirt. Any ideas what this could be? I know its metal but I dunno where it was coming from.

I don't I was in sand. My dad shot it next and felt the same crap bit his shirt. We put it away at that point. I was shooting green tip lake city brass.

Perhaps it was the primer getting blown off? You said it was small. This or some brass is getting sheared off.

What were you using as a target and at what distance? Steel targets at close distances have been known to make stuff come flying back at you.
