Bottom line is you do not have to patronize those stores where the FFL thinks they walk on water and talk down to you. Do a little research hopefully you will find a LGS that is a good fit for you.
    ^^Agreed.

I live in an area where there are several LGS within 15 - 20 minutes drive. I choose to drive 30 miles to do all of my transfers because of the superior service I get at my preferred FFL.

So gun shops before favored the PPT law that mandates PPT to be done at a FFL. Now can we ask the same gun shops to repel that law?

It's a pain for the FFL and trust me it's a pain for the customers as well. We have to schedule to meet at a gun shop that might not be convenient to both the buyer and seller. We have to go during business hours of that shop and not close to the closing hours. We are at the mercy of the shop to do the transfer as fast or slow as they can. We are treated as second class customer because they only make $10 out of the whole transaction. On top of they we have to pay $35 and the buyer won't be able to pick up the gun in 10 days or whenever the shop is open after the 10 days.

I did a few transaction in parking lots before 1/1/2014 for C&R rifles and those were awesome, as painless and quick as it can be.

No waiting out of the trunk of my car (little joke). But I used to buy and sell guns right out of the Recycler. Now don't tell anyone, but guns can still be found at yard sales and 99 times out of 100 they just want them gone and don't want, nor care about PPT's at FFL's. Typically they are from a long deceased relative and they had no idea what to do with them until you so graciously appeared.

A gun store complaining about doing PPTs is like liberals moving in close to a gun range and complaining about the noise.

At $10 per PPT he only has to do 1500 transactions to cover that cost. But that doesn't cover his increased insurance or anything else. Granted some transactions are DROS's and you make a whole $10 on those.

You all demand your right to PPT, really? All of you special snowflakes need to realize that your threat of "I'll never shop there" is meaningless since really soon there will be nothing to sell or purchase in the CA

I'm familiar enough with the guys at Solar Tactical in CV to say that it's not a made up story regarding their safes being full. From what I remember, they have a system of how the guns are stored based on the process. Space is designated to FFL to FFL transfers, PPTs, and store purchases. If they are out of space, then what would you want them to do? Buy a new safe for a very tiny back area and make things MORE crowded there to accommodate your transfer?
The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.

Yea...I remember that too!! I also think you can still do that on Craigslist and armslist but it's a little risky.
