    Featurless stock vs pinned stock

Why aren't people just pinning their stocks on their AR's somehow instead of going with the typical featurless stock? Ipersonally don't like the featurless stocks look. Is pinning it not going to cut it for featurless?

By featureless stock do you mean fixed stock? If so, then because fixed stocks are better. The only advantage an adjustable stock has is that you can adjust it, take that away and there no longer any advantage.

Just because you pin a stock doesnt mean you have a featureless rifle. You need to remove ALL features.

            Telescoping or thumbhole stock
            FlashHider
            Launcher
            Forward Grip
            Pistol Grip

I see no reason to pin a stock when I also have to use a goofy fin grip. I went with the FRS-15 Stock because you really dont notice a difference over a regular rifle.

People have brought FRS-15 rifles to Indiana, Nevada, Pennsylvania and asked those residents what they thought. Some didnt even realize it was a compliance device and thought it was just a new style stock.. most loved it.

There is Video of Black Rain Ordnance demoing the FRS-15 in States without these laws on Youtube.

IMHO, using a Hammer Head, a pinned stock works better than the Magpul fixed carbine. There's more room on the top to get your thumb around it. For other ways like the Monster Man, or grip fins, your choice.

I'll be pinning a MFT minimalist stock. Those fixed stocks are too heavy for my taste.

The stock I was referring to was this.

Kdsd731.... It's just personal preference... Personally I think the finned grip, that you have to use in conjunction with the fixed stock to be featureless, looks stupid and functionally less comfortable than the Thordsen stock. My best friend thinks the Thordsen stock is hideous. At this point in time either can be used for featureless it's all about your personal tastes and which one is more comfortable for any individual person to use...

Thanks. I guess I just need to go hold some rifles with both setups to decide for myself. Besides me personally not caring for those stocks, I just thought more people would prefer to pin the adjustable stocks and keep their rifles looking closer to a standard look versus a complete makeover.

I will be pinning my adjustable stocks..it took me a long time to find a stock with long length of pull, I don't want to have to look for anymore.

Does the buffer tube have to be completely inserted into this stock? If so wouldnt it be too short?

Its not just holding it... try maneuvering with both. Thats where the real difference comes into play.
