Help me choose between these two ARs to SBR

Hi there. When I move to CO I'd like to eventually have an SBR in 5.56. I've narrowed it down between the LaRue OBR 5.56 12" and the PWS Mk107 Mod 2. I'm leaning the PWS because I like the idea of buying a 16" OBR and later on buying the PWS. If I went the LaRue SBR route I probably wouldn't get a PWS but I'd have an SBR sooner rather than later. I love the look and feel of the OBR but the PWS piston is very tempting. And the new forged lowers are bada** looking. I'd like to hear from you guys. I had another thread asking about PWS and someone said the piston system was great for pistol length barrels which really got me thinking.

The PWS looks way better in my opinion.

I don't mind the way the PWS looks and at least it looks different than every other AR. But the LaRue is the best looking AR IMO. Probably the best looking gun actually lol

The piston system is great on SBRs as it solves the bolt dip problem with a super short gas system...

Can you own supressor in Colorado?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Op; I'm not sure if the PWS is the piston version, but sometimes SBRs, especially suppressed, run better on piston systems. Check to see of the piston system has an adjustment for suppressed fire. The other nice thing about piston driven suppressed rifles is the gas doesn't get blown into your face.

I think the PWS looks cool. It just has a CQB flash hider. Looks are about the last reason to buy a rifle.

Yes , the PWS brings a different look to the AR platform. Im not a fan of the muzzle but the rest of the pistol looks way better from my point of view. If I was on the fence about the two , I would def buy the PWS.

It is the Piston version and it does have a suppressor adjustment for subsonic and supersonic loads along with unsuppressed I believe. That's why there's that cutout on the rail up front.

Had no idea Larue makes SBRs. That thing is gorgeous, and I'm sure it runs like a champ. I'm over Piston ARs now so I'd def get the Larue. Plus I love all things Texan and think PWSs new pic-mod is retarded AF

Running a SBR with a suppressor is pointless. Shorter barrels are inherently louder than longer barrels so the net difference with a SBR, even with the can factored in, is trivial. But if you really wanna give the ATF two tax stamps... It's your money

Eh, it is pretty tall. And I like it bare. I'm not to big on the covers for it so it's got a good size to it.

I agree on all your points except I've never had a Piston AR. I'd like at least one and PWS has the best piston system it seems. And yes that pic mod is pretty dumb, but not a deal breaker IMO. And I wouldn't run it suppressed. That's what my 300BLK will be for.
