So i bought my first AK about a year ago and just now trying to fix the problem i had when shooting it for the first time. It's made from a 1960s Polish AK47 parts kit i bought from armsofamerica and it was put together with an NDS-1 Nodak Spud receiver. This was the preformed receiver that needed minimal work.
Problem#1: When pulling the bolt back it seems to hangup on the hammer. When i test fired the gun it doesn't cycle properly because of it. This is the original Polish trigger group.
Problem#2: When trying to remove the safety lever to replace the original trigger group the safety lever won't rotate all the way up because it hits on the sear. I bought a tapco G2 single hook trigger to replace but I'm now unsure if this is going to solve my problems.
Pic#1 is showing how the safety lever hits the sear.
Pic#2 is showing how the original trigger hammer has been hitting the bolt and the new tapco trigger hammer has a taper built in.
