308AR buffer Spring

does anyone know what buffer spring i need in my build. its a DPMS Lower with carbine buffer tube, already have the buffer that is shorter but heavier than AR 15 buffer. Not sure what the length of the spring needs to be or does it have a specific weight and length. I do have a 11.5 spring siting around. would that work?
