    The madness continues

I'm building a 6.5 Creedmoor on an Aero lower. Not to my surprise, the mag catch threaded end is too short. A Raddlock works but just barely. I have a Sig 716 DMR that has the longer mag catch in it. Called Sig to order one and they said until the new California laws are clarified they are not shipping certain parts for 516, 556, and 716 to Cali. Curious if this is going on with other manufacturers.

It is not too short, you just do not thread it all the way like on an AR-15.

I contacted daniel defense and got a similar answer. No mag release parts until the laws are clarified. Sucks cause the dd5 has proprietary parts and I can't just take the bullet button off.

befriend people from other states on other forums and have DD ship them then have your new friend ship the DD parts to you.

I ordered all my mag release parts on the day it was announced since I thought this might happen. You might be able to get a store to order it for you?

I just tried to order 7 round 458 SOCOM mags from Wilson Combat and they will not ship to CA because they say I can convert them to regular 20 round 5.56 mags. Great, you could make that same argument about a lot of things that you "could" modify when it comes to firearms. Guess I am stuck waiting for calegalmags

Aero Precisions' M5 lower parts kit just came back in stock, maybe the mag release in that kit is longer.

I just ordered standard mag release buttons from Midway. I'm tossing all my bullet buttons. I'm a free man again.

Why wouldn't they ship it cuz featureless rifles use standard mag releases. I'd tell them featureless rifles are still good to go or shop somewhere else. And Lpk's come with standard mag release,

DD said no standard mag release parts will be shipped out. It's a proprietary part and they want you to send the lower in so they can replace the parts. They said it's no cost but they can't do it until they see they see new details of the law. And I would have to make it featureless before I send it to them. Only good thing is I can use my Utah address to ship it from to avoid modicum for now. Bad news is i'd have to drive out there to sign for delivery.

Use a Armalite AR10 mag release and raddlock will have no issues threading on
