individually test vs batch tested bcgs

Just want to confirm, the difference between individually tested and batch tested is that batch tested they take 1 sample and test it... while individually tested means each bcg gets tested. Right?

Or does batch tested means all of them gets tested as a batch and individually tested means they get tested one by one?

I'm talking about the MPI and HPT testing they do on bcgs.

MPI and HP testing, when done, is on the Bolt only not the BCG, just so you're clear on the issue. maybe that's what you meant?

Batch test means they test a certain % of the entire run. Its not random, they actually know when to test. They are looking for certain defects.

So the run is 100, they test the Ninth, the Fifty-ninth, the seventy-ninth, eighty-ninth and number 100.

If 9 fails, they stop the whole run and figure out whats wrong.
If 59 fails, they test 60-63, if any of them fail, they stop the whole run and figure out whats going on.
If 79 fails, they again test 80-83, and again if 89 fails they test 90-93 blah blah blah.
If 100 pass, they reset the tooling and test # 109...
      repeat...

On individual test, its pass or fail for every one.

On a military contract it is up to the quality control team to come up with the quality plan. That includes any testing procedures. It's rare to have parts 100% inspected/tested.

In the machine industry we inspect on AQL levels. The lot is inspected per quantity of parts. Ex. 100 pcs in lot inspected at a .40 AQL= 32 pcs inspected. If any of those 32 parts fail any inspection criteria, the entire lot must be inspected 100%. This inspection is also an addition to manufacturing inspections, which in our shop is a Run 5 check 1 inspection as they are pulled off of the machine. These in process inspections can be increased or decreased depending on machine (i.e. 5 axis mill vs 3 axis mill vs Swiss machine- Swiss machine is rather accurate and requires less inspection).
