So you really believe that if they ban featureless they wouldn't allow registration again? All those guns out there like garands, mini 14s, m1as (probably more featureless rifles out there now than ar15s) which don't have to be registered now because they are not considered assault weapons, would just be declared assault weapons without a chance to register them?

Ban featureless = remove gas tube. F them.Believe half of what you see and nothing you hear.Comment

they can't do that... if they could do that, you wouldnt have a magazine locked semiauto right now.
Yes they can ban all semiautomatic centerfire firearms... HILARY is going to try that. Its already written awaiting her POTUS signature. Just wait...
... Joe Biden wanted a full AWB again. Obummer said No, he wasnt going to force it.... Joe Biden wrote a second AWB, he also co-wrote the first if you guys didnt know...
You can beat your bottom dollar Hilary WILL force it..."Blah Blah Blah....as a matter of public safety and threat from terrorism the POTUS request BATFE restrict the sale of all semiautomatic firearms to only those persons who pass a NFA / GCA background investigation.....blah blah blah..."
so all semiautomatic firearms will be banned for sale without a Tax Stamp issued by the BATFE, get in line ...about 1500 will be issued per year. About 200 a month.Comment

Because it does. The stock is lower so it means raising the rifle higher. Which means the top rail of the rifle has to be higher. So unless you put lower rings on, your scope will be too high and no matter what your shoulder placement will be too low. The Thordsen, on the other hand, places the butt stock higher in a more normal position relative to the rail.
Buttstock too low (red), cheek weld to butt stock distance (red) too great. Proper butt stock shoulder placement (green).

Actually, I think with this design the shotgun stock will sit lower in your arm/chest than the standard 'pocket' where you currently mount a long gun. Cheek still stays on the buffer tube/line of sight has not changed. But you have this goofy shotgun stock hanging down there in the middle of nowhere.Comment

I all the years of hunting I did I never held the stock that low. You would never get the proper sight picture and you'd end up with a bruised bicep or chest. There is NO way that setup can produce proper alignment. You move the stock to your shoulder, the cheek weld is off. You lower the scope and raise the stock and the cheek weld is still off.Actually, I think with this design the shotgun stock will sit lower in your arm/chest than the standard 'pocket' where you currently mount a long gun. The only way to shoot that setup is to shoot like the guy in the pic, thanks but no-thanks.
I noticed the guy in the pic is not using muff type hearing protection, which would also interfere with his cheek weld.Last edited by ScottsBad; 07-25-2016, 1:05 PM.sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.Comment

OK even though Headbutt SGW-515 is a new product, we've been selling the Hammerhead for the last seven years and one popular configuration of that product has the same geometry (what we call the Type I config) as the Headbutt, with regards to where the stock is positioned relative to the lower receiver.Actually, I think with this design the shotgun stock will sit lower in your arm/chest than the standard 'pocket' where you currently mount a long gun. Cheek still stays on the buffer tube/line of sight has not changed. But you have this goofy shotgun stock hanging down there in the middle of nowhere.
So based on 7 years of actual hands-on experience with thousands of Hammerhead customers, plus our new Headbutt customers, actually what happens is:
1) The eye/scope or eye/sight geometry and positioning doesn't have to change.
2) The stock position sits right in the meat of your shoulder, and doesn't have to change.
3) The big change is that your neck isn't bent as much or cramped to get your head down to the sights. It's a more open and upright neck/head position.
Oh and before someone mentions it (because in seven years we know that's going to be the next claim), what doesn't happen is the muzzle blast throwing the rifle up over your shoulder. A muzzle brake aids in this control but in actual practice it hasn't been an issue. From the outtakes or camera test during the ASSAULTED documentary film, here's a youtube vid of a Hammerhead / Type I customer doing some rapid fire:
Yes it looks different. Show us a featureless product that doesn't look different.Manufacturer of CA AWB Compliance Products from Oct 2009 to Nov 2018Comment

Do you understand the buffer tubes position has NOT changed? Do you understand the cheek on your face has not changed? Do you understand there the cheek on your face and the buffer tube meet on the rifle has not changed? Are you saying that when you install a stock that sits lower on the rifle your eyes will move to under your nose?Because it does. The stock is lower so it means raising the rifle higher. Which means the top rail of the rifle has to be higher. So unless you put lower rings on, your scope will be too high and no matter what your shoulder placement will be too low. I dont care where the stock hits your boob... I dont care if there is a stock at all (pistol)... your cheek rests on the tube and that is the standard cheek weld that has not moved.Comment

On a side note:
I was sitting in Riflegear about 4 PM yesterday with number 87.
Picking up 2 more lowers.
Started chatting with some of the guys also waiting and most were picking up
(Not buying, the walls are bare) AR platform rifles with Bullet Buttons.
Two of these nice folks had no clue about the new laws. None whatsoever.
"What?!...You're kidding me..!" Was one statement, after I briefed them on the
RAW requirement and magazine ban......
I know we are a group of gun enthusiasts here on CalGuns are fairly up to date on new laws; not perfect but we are alert.
But the other several million gun owners in California are simply Clueless about these new laws and I suspect MANY innocent folks are going to become
Victims of being CRIMINALS BY LEGISLATION.
This isn't going to end well.........
Be well

If you don't care then you don't understand the fundamentals of shooting. Try using that configuration in the prone position and tell me its correct. Or try shooting a .308 that way instead of a weak recoil .223.Do you understand the buffer tubes position has NOT changed? Do you understand the cheek on your face has not changed? We have had this stock configuration on the market since 2009. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but we have thousands of customers who shoot with the stock that way and love it. Shouldering and firing is the only way to know for sure whether it works for you. We're giving you more options in a bad situation here. If you don't think it's for you based on looking at some photos and you haven't actually shouldered it, please withhold comments about how it can't work or won't work. Fact is, for many of our customers it does work, and has for a long time.If you don't care then you don't understand the fundamentals of shooting.
