First of all when you add a sling to the gun do you want a sharp axe sliding back on your lower back. Second if you are wearing any gear it will sure damage any mag pouches or equipment you may be running with. Third thats what a f****** bayonet lug is for when I shoot the bayonet adds a bit of weight better to have it then not.
