I'm wondering if the bullet button just went extinct. Prior to the latest round of new firearm laws, the bullet button kept the average AR-15 from being classified as an "assault weapon." However, as of Jan 1. 2017, the new law will include in the definition of an "assault weapon" even ARs with bullet buttons. So if that feature no longer separates the rifle from that classification, is the bullet button even relevant anymore? ARs will be "assault weapons" with or without bullet buttons...so...does one need to keep their bullet button installed since it no longer makes any difference?

"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ QuietComment
