Advice on a brake/compensator for featureless

So I'm changing my AR to featureless and I've already got a Thordson stock on the way. Next step is to replace my PWS FSC556 with something less evil.

    Any suggestions?

Spikes tactical. Flash hiders typically have an exit bore larger than the caliber, brakes typically have an exit bore the same diameter of the caliber. Save your packaging and receipts of your muzzle break.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

Brakes/Comps are purely personal preference. There's so many out there and gun owners always claim theirs is the best.

I prefer the Effin-A Mk II simply because it's so tuneable.

Less evil? You'd be looking at compensators, regular or linear.

In order of blast evilness, most to least: Brakes (your PWS fits here really), Comps, Flash hiders, and Linear Comps.

If you mean less evil for featureless, this letter from the ATF clearly saying the FSC556 lacks flash suppressing ability is a wrinkle.

So I don't have to change my PWS? I've been reading that it's in a gray area and I sure don't want to be a test case. Lol!

Rainier arms short muzzle break. Cheap and works very well on 16" barrels. Very obvious it's not a flash hider. I pulled off my pws because of the ambiguity that surrounds it.

Been looking at lantec dragon 556 muzzle brake, does anybody know if this would be legal? In flash comparison photos it doesn't have as large of a flash signature as other muscle brakes. So I'm assuming it reduces flash a little. But it's not advertised as a flash suppressor. I know it's a grey area whether this will fly, but does anyone have experience with this brake?

All linear here. I must protect my hearing. One of them looks like an A2 birdcage, same size and shape. The BRT is only 2.2 oz too. It's not very effective as a linear brake compared to others, but it looks as close to stock as you will find.
