    MSAR E4 featureless

    Hi,
I have a MSAR E4 16.5" barrel currently has raddlock on it. I am thinking about making it featureless, by adding a grip wrap and replace the flash hider with muzzle brake. The only item that I am not sure how to deal with is the foregrip.

There used to be 2020 Precision Rail and Inventure Concepts Tri-Ax, which you could use it to replace the foregrip, but Ratworx no longer have them. They do have a 2020 rail for Steyr ( http://www.ratworxusa.com/product.20...?source=search ) , but they told me this one is not designed for MSAR (they did say that I might be able to modify it to make it fit MSAR E4).

On my MSAR E4, there is a small picatinny rail (about 1.5" long) behind the foregrip, so I am thinking that maybe I can install a picatinny extension/bridge on it and put an angle foregrip on the extension. I wonder if this has been done before with success.
    Thanks for your help!

I was thinking of the same conversion after July 1

Concerns with a front angle grip is that the support fingers would be near the gas plug and barrel and will probably get burnt.

According to my research, replacing the foregrip with rail and then put on angle grip has been done before. Here is just one example

Here is a member who shot the Steyr AUG with the foregrip in the folded position and it looks like the only thing got burned was the grip (not sure if the OP was wearing gloves)

I have not shot mine, but I believe that the finger should be far enough away from the gas port with this setup (unless you are left-handed). Or, wear gloves, just in case.

if not an AFG, I'll be able to mount a bipod and still be featureless.

oh yeah...good luck with the flash hider and lock nut...those suckers are put on tight!!!

Thanks for the tip, I looked at the Ratworx video already. Mine already has the extended version of the flash suppressor (overall length >30"), so I hope that it is not too difficult to remove.

Selling it would be another option, as I am just tired of dealing with these BS laws. At least we still have a few months to decide what to do and I am gathering just the necessary parts for now.

If the gas exits like the Steyr then an AFG should be fine.
