Can you easily find one at a lower price? Your answer to that question is the reason why.NRA Benefactor Member

I sort of saw this happening. I was watching the SCAR 17. I believe there are some available but people waiting to get the 5k - 6k they were getting during the Sandy Hook panic. Actually last month, they were going for about 2,750 for a black, 2,850 for FDE and with a Cal bullet button $2,900. Soon as California legislature was heading for a vote, I purchased mine. The Orlando issue only intensified it and made supply scarce on a national level. Now, if you want a SCAR, it will take a lot of work to find a "non gouger" and probably will be frustrating. If in a market, expect to see lots of added profit to the asking price. People are trying to push the price up. Seen $4,500. I am sure they will try to push up to $6,000 closer to the deadline for the ban. This rifle is the classic pump and dump. Same as the stock market.Comment

No one here remembers Sandy Hook? People paying $5-7K for SCARs because they panic buy.
Keep panic buying, all you are doing is raising prices and encouraging more gougers.
YOU HAVE OVER 5 MONTHS! You do not need to jump on anything and everything TODAY because some guy said YOU WON'T FIND IT AGAIN!Just a normal guyComment

Is the SCAR really worth all that? I get the service weapon appeal of it but $6k?
A FAL, M14, PTR can fit that role well. Short of invading Fallujah I don't see the hype.Comment

That is FN's only issue: these guns are a popular sell to international government contracts. When they get big orders, all of their production focuses on fulfilling the government contracts first. Rumor has it that FN is busy servicing a couple of contracts at this moment. Now, with another round of panic buying occurring in the US, domestic demand for these rifles has doubled. Timing is everything when interested in buying a SCAR. Procrastinators are normally disappointed.Comment
