I'm looking to purchase a gas piston POF 308 Gen 4 lower and eventually the 308 upper, Puritan upper, and ReVolt upper. I do not currently own any AR-15's and have been recently researching all of the AR's out there and have decided to go the POF route. I'd really like to get my hands on some lowers before all of the new laws go into affect and I'm just looking for some guidance on what route to take with my purchases.
I'd like to start with 7.62 lowers as I like the punch that they pack compared to 5.56. What's the best POF 7.62 lower? Best 5.56 lower? I don't like the fixed stock on the Skirmish and not a fan of the Warhog.
I was originally focused on the P415 and later decided to start with a 7.62 lower like the 308. Would anyone recommend purchasing a 7.62 lower and a 5.56 lower? I like the style of the 308 and the 415. I also like the bolt action Revolt and would like to buy the upper as well as the Puritan upper. What are my best options as I will not be able to afford everything before the end of the year.
Where's a good place to buy the lowers with a BB in California or near Sacramento? What online retailers are willing to install a BB from out of state and ship?
