AB 1135 assault weapons ban

In this new law signed it says that any centerfire semi auto gun with a detachable magazine is to be considered a AW (excluding pistols without threaded barrels/vertical forgrips). I see a lot of people talking about going featureless on their AR but in the new law it says if it has a detachable magazine then it is considered an assault weapon. Can anybody confirm or deny that every semi auto rifle with a detachable mag is now illegal in CA from 2017 and on. Doesnt matter if is has any other features, a removable mag is the only one that matters now
