    Extended Polymer Takedown Pins

With all the new laws taking into effect and both mag locking solutions requiring breaking the action open... Perhaps we can save some wear and tear on our rifles by using a polymer based take down pin? It would be self lubricating, extended for an easy grip and should never ream out the lower.

I would think that plastic pins would wear much faster, causing issues with stuck detent pins, etc.

Has anyone ever seen a "reamed-out lower" ??

There are plenty of quick release takedown pins on the market. Us old-timers remember building break-top AR's back in the day when the ban expired. In fact, two of my builds still have them.

That was before the bullet button emerged (and was legally tested).

      Nothing new.
