    Mini 14

Are Mini 14's effected in any way?

If it is set up as a featureless rifle, then it is not affected by the new laws.

If it is set up as a fixed magazine rifle, then it is affected by the new laws.

I believe that Mini 14s with flash hiders and/or bayonet lugs like say "GB" models are considered "assault weapons"---rifles without these features are not effected---yet...

Based on a quick review, just now, of the undated CalGuns Flowchart for semi-autos, it appears to me that the Mini-14 is "featureless", is not an assault weapon as defined by the Sacramento Politburo, therefor is not subject to the new registration requirement, and does not require modification to a fixed magazine.

IF you have modified your Ruger Mini-14, you have some homework to do. IF you have Mini-14 magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, you are subject to confiscation (uncompensated taking of private property).

Caution: I don't know if CalGuns has updated the Flowchart to reflect the tsunami of anti-gun bills Gov. Moonbeam just signed into law.

Disclosure: I am a Ruger Mini-14 owner; mine is unmodified.

I'd like to know if anyone else agrees with the above decryption of the Flowchart. This is highly important to a lot of Mini-14 owners out there.

I'm going to guess Mini 14s are going to be very popular again in CA once its one of the only semi .223s FFLs can sell you...

Two days ago Davidson's had several variants of MINI 14 and MINI 30 rifles in stock, showing quantities of 99+. Today, those quantities are listed as "0" in stock. Yeah, it's going to be popular. Glad I already have two, which I really love.

It is also my understanding the Mini 14 is not impacted. However, please let us know if that is not the case.

I suspect they will try again in the future to ban ALL semi auto rifles. Then the next step. Then the next step. Then ...

                        Mini-14

How will any of the current laws just passed affect the Mini-14?

                          Hello!
                          I'm new here.

This is kind of a dupe post of the one I posted in the general new semiauto law forum.
Apologies if that's uncool. Like I said, new here.
Also, apologies if the question's been answered definitely. I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere on the interwebs.

I wrote my Reps for my LA district re the new definition of "assault" rifle and if it effects "featureless" semiauto rifles with removable magazines. I specifically mentioned the Mini-14.

I'll let you know what I hear if you're interested.
Hopefully I'll hear by Tuesday ...

just wait until next year when our representatives clarify the definition of assault weapon again.
