How to disassemble 6 pos stock??

I don't remember where I read it but someone wrote that you could minimize the play, or wobble, of a telescoping stock by removing the stock from the tube, using a vice grip, and heating up the stock enough to use the vice grip to squeeze the opening of the stock slightly. I'd like to try this before I decide to sell the stocks I have to upgrade but I don't know how to take the stock off.

yeah on step 1 you really need to pull that arm out far to clear the buffer tub.
