gas block came loose shooting this last weekend

took out all my rifles and a few HGs to steel peak with some buddies, around 100 rounds into it 1 of my rifles started short stroking and not ejecting rounds. So i put it away and took off the rail when i got home, turns out the gas block had completely loosened from the barrel. Do you guys use any loctite or anything to keep it from loosening? Had no issues with any of my other rifles

I used red loctite on mine. I put 110rds through it on Sunday and had no issues.

I'm running a Dez Tactical A2 front post on mine. It's held in place with 5 set screws. One directly under the barrel that is tightened on a flat on the barrel. The other 4 are tightened up against the side of the barrel without flats.
I used blue Loctite and have around 150 rounds through it without any issues

I use red loctite on my low pro gas blocks. About 4k rounds through four uppers with no issues.

Generally I buy a gun with a GB pinned to the barrel. If I'm building something boutique-ish, and assembling myself, I "dimple"
the barrel where the setscrews meet, and thread lock the setscrews.

If it isn't pinned then it has to at least have threadlocker on the attaching hardware. A dimple for set screw registration will strengthen that assembly even further , so they are a good idea.

If it is a mil spec block, push out the roll pins to see what has happened?
Were the pins holes drilled in the wrong location?

If using a set screw version....
Remove and see if the set screws have made a nice mark where they contact the barrel. If yes, use a drill to dimple the barrel. Re install with locktite.

                  I would use red loctite

Red Loctite softens with heat, you should use Rocksett on the gas block screws.

I have set screw GBs but they are also pinned. If you don't want to pin it you should at least dimple the barrel well. Red Loctite works to keep the screws from vibrating loose it will do that even when it gets hot.

All of my gas blocks are pinned, never had one come loose. Pinning is the way to go if you really want to make sure the GB doesn't come loose.

I read about this happening fairly often.
