Colt M4 Carbine Cutaway - See Whats Inside Your AR15

Most major factories produce "cutaway" models of their popular firearms. Today Colt is well known for their M4/AR15 style rifles and is globally the #1 supplier of these weapon systems to law enforcement and military, and accordingly produces "cutaways" of the specific models that are sold to government entities around the world. A cutaway is a firearm that has externals intricately removed to expose the functioning internals. This is all done manually by one of the master machinists at Colt, and require as much, if not more skill/time than a master engraved pistol.

As one of their top law enforcement distributors we were lucky enough to acquire just a couple of their LE6920 "cutaways". These are typically reserved for large government buyers and don't ever hit the market. We are sharing the pictures here as we know many of you will appreciate these.

We have Colt archive letters for each of these weapons stating they came from Colt this way (they ARE considered live firearms and have serial numbers), we are offering to sell 1 of the 2 we acquired and if you are interested a link to our site is below the photos

Nice find. Would be a cool display piece. Absolutely worthless to buy a gun that cant be fired for 5 times what a functioning gun costs.

It is absolutely a display piece. Same way individuals spend tens of thousands for engraved or even full auto weapons that most of the time are never fired.

This hung up in a glass display or on the wall in your office, house, man cave, whatever would definitely be something more to look at than a complete gun that can be shot. We have dozens of full auto weapons, some very valuable and I think this is cooler than any of those that we have.

It is bought for the same reason people buy artwork but this makes more sense then a picture of a sunset for guys who like guns at least...

After you've built a dozen, and re-barrelled, re-triggered, swapped furniture and replaced other parts on another dozen there really isn't much left to the imagination IMHO. I get more out of watching this free YouTube animation - though would be a bit better if it showed hot gas going back the tube into the BCG.

Colt's work and thats why they are relied on by LE/MIL, they might not have shiny nickel boron bolts, trick wazoo lightweight parts or zulu warrior rail systems but calling a Colt not useful isn't so accurate...

                    It looks cool, BUT . . . . . That's a lot of $ for a wall display of a common rifle!

I know what's inside my AR because I'm the one that put it all there.

But seriously, thanks for the pics. That's pretty cool.

Glad you guys like the pics! When we put one of these out on display at a recent law enforcement trade show, alongside short barrel, full auto etc rifles all decked out for SWAT use, the item getting the most attention was without question the cutaway

For $2k alot of people would be all over this but unfortunately colt does not mass produce these, they make them by hand and very rarely do they make them as you can imagine, if there were alot of them they wouldnt be special
