Mag release options for AK: converting Vepr

So I was in the process of crudely trying to file the mad release down on my Vepr to accept normal AK mags.

Yeah, I butchered it I think. Thought I was hitting the back of the latch aaannndddd I wasnt. even if I did manage to file it correctly now, it would be a wobbly mess.

So, anyone have any recommendations for a replacement AK mag release? I see brownells stocks ak-builder mag release parts. are there any others out there I should know about?

A couple spot welds will do the trick then file back to shape. I know a thing or two about building aks and you don't want to have to replace the mag catch. I'd rather do a re barrel then replace the mag catch itself

Been wanting to try these out, but I'm too lazy:

It's supposed to eliminate mag wobble and get rid of bald spots LOL

lol beanz. Im tempted to try the M+M, but have heard getting product shipped out can take some time.

May go the way of brownells with parts and have a local smith install the mag catch.

lol NM, im a tard.... Tried again today and got her to fit. Needed better lighting but I managed to find that I was hitting the tool body on the receiver weird.

Reangled, cut a little from the back of the latch and now she takes mags nice and tight. No wobble. Not pretty and will probably need a pro to fit a new one down the road a bit but for now it works.

Combloc surplus and Magpul MOE all fit tight. Molot factory mag was a wee bit loose in the back (as expected) but racking some snap caps in and out she fed flawlessly.
