I was just wondering why there are no American companies that produce AKs. It seems that we now make the receivers and import all the rest of the parts (minus the ones needed to be 922 compliant). Is there a law against producing them here?

"Lancaster's Commercial Division has become one of largest manufactures of original AK rifles in the United States."
It sounds like Lancaster makes them, and there might be more. Or maybe they just make the receivers.sigpic

Just about money, if it was cheaper to make them here we would, to set up all the tooling to make fsb,gb, etc etc... would cost to much to make it remotely affordable. Someday it may happen if they ban importation of parts but until then, things will be as they are.Comment

I own a Lancaster. The one I have uses and NDS-3 receiver...meaning the parts were imported.A citizen who shirks his duty to contribute to the security of his community is little better than the criminal who threatens it.Comment
