AK74 Brakes ZigZag Vs standard 74 brake, help me decide

ok guys i need to make a decision

i am gonna cut my barrel and pin and weld a 74 Bulgy brake on

currently i have 2, one is a chrome lined zigzag Bulgy and the other is just standard 74 chrome lined Bulgy brake ( i think they call them Half Moon? )

both brakes are in perfect condition

which one is better and a later design?

and which one would u pin and weld?

Neither, i would get the bulgy 4 pc brake for easy accessibilty for cleaning since your muzzle brake would have to permanently placed on by atf standards

dont like the look of the 4 piece flash hider and want a MUZZLE BRAKE

yes it will pinned/welded, i dont shoot corrosive ammo much so shouldnt be a problem

i am just wondering what the diff between ZIGZAG and standard 74 Bulgy brakes

Both will be a pain to clean if pinned and welded. Not much of difference in performance IMO. Zig Zag on the left, half moon on the right.

I wonder what my barrel crown looks like after never having cleaned it since new (p&w)

yea, i thing I’d want something I can break down and clean easily. Corrosive ammo or not, **** still gets caked and nasty. Could get enough build-up to eventually effect performance.

performance wise, there is no difference.

read this and see which one you want http://www.k-var.com/shop/skin1/page...article01.html

Zig zag is the only one Bulgarian operators, operate with. YMMV.

The threads and crown seem most susceptible to corrosion when shooting 7n6.

If you have to pin, I'd submerge the front end front some time to clean.
