    Sighting in my OLL

Can anyone recomend a good target distance for sighting in my Stag 15? I've don't have any fancy optics, just plain old A2 sights. I was thinking around 100-200 yards would be a good place to start.

    Thanks/MM

I would make sure that gets on the paper first, without wasting a bunch of ammo. Put it at 50 yards and get comfortable with the sights if you don't have much expirience with the A2.

You can try this zeroing target... @ 25m, then you are zero'ed for 300m

Most people zero at 50 yards, it is a range that is accessible and seems to be the best compromise.

When you zero at 50, you'll hit a few inches high at 100, and few inches low at 300. Luckilly the .223 has a realatively level flight path out to about 400m.

This is what I do. You will have to remember to use a slight hold over for real in close (0-25 yds) since the bullet will still be rising to the sight plane.

My personal thinking is that everyone on this board can answer you and you will get a different answer from everyone.

Think about where you are going to be shooting and what distance you are going to be mostly shooting at.

My AR is set for 100yds

                  My .308 is set at 200, 300, and 400yds

My SKS is set at 75yds

So on and on and on

Just figure out what you are going to be shooting at and then go from there.

                  Just my opinion

+1. Technical Ted introcuced me to that one a while back.
