Troy 16" Alpha Upper 1/7 Twist Midlength
A2 stock with full-length buffer spring
584 rounds since cleaned the bolt, freshly lubed.
Normally ejects at 2 o clock. Shooting 55gr Freedom Munitions 223.
Was shooting the rifle leaning on the PVC pole of the brass net (pic below) with maybe 1-2" of clearance between the gun and the net.

Had a perpendicular stovepipe with rim against bolt. Was thinking that the ejection was either obstructed by the stiff net, or bounced back from the net into the chamber since it was so close.
Was able to duplicate the issue.
Is this something to keep in mind for AR15s? How much distance do you need between the ejection port and a barrier?
