    New psa KS-47 (ar/ak rifle)

The Palmetto State Armory KS47 is based on the AR15, and combines the modular construction, accuracy and precision of the AR platform with the stopping power and the magazine options of the AK. While the current AR47 fires the 7.62x39 AK round, it uses modified AR-style magazines that are not nearly as plentiful as AK-style magazines, that were optimized for reliable feeding of the 7.62x39 round. The KS47 lets the AK shooter capitalize on his inventory of magazines and ammo with an AR-style platform.
Unlike the AK, where the barrel is permanently pressed into the receiver, the KS47 features an AR-style modular configuration which consists of a barreled upper receiver, and a lower receiver that houses the fire control group and magazine. The modular configuration allows customers to have several different barrel configurations with one lower receiver, just by releasing two pins.

It's just PSA's version of an AR system that uses AK magazines.

Price point seems reasonable to me. Its a few hundred dollars cheaper than the CMMG.

"A" for effort but I'll pass.

I don't think $1000 is unreasonable. Looks like it would be a fun featureless rifle.

PSA had a great concept with these, however the Gen 1 (G1) was plagued by a few minor issues that made reliability an issue.

                1. Magazine over-insertion - some magazines would ride up into the magwell too far (such as when using the mag itself as a monopod) which would cause feeding issues. There was a DIY fix for this which involved drilling and tapping a hole in the receiver and putting a screw in the hole as a mag-stop.

                2. Bolt clearance - corners of the bolt lugs would hang up on the magazine feed lips, causing feed problems. Again, there was a DIY fix involving filing down the corners of the lugs to provide clearance.

Due to the issues reported with the gun as-issued from PSA there were many dodgy reviews of the gun, leading to poor sales. PSA discontinued the gun for a while (2017-2018).

Now, however, they have come out with the Gen 2 (G2) model which it seems they have gone to great lengths to remedy the previous shortcomings. I can't wait to hear more about these.

Looks cool, not too pricey. I'd take one.

You can build your own with a brs-47 lower from biller rifle systems. You don’t have to use their upper but theirs is already clearanced for the ak mag and matches the contour of the lower. Just another option for those that want to build.
