DDI AK47 Underfolder, Initial Thoughts

I just picked up my DDI underfolder and wanted to share my thoughts. I picked the gun up from Atlantic Firearms and just like everyone says they were a pleasure to do business with. I don't have anything to complain about except they didn't ship the gun with a magazine. I know we can't get the standard magazines but it would have been nice if the gun came with one 10 rounder. As far as the quality of the gun I have to say you can't beat the DDI guns. The finish is great and I like how they apply the Fenocite to most of the major parts in the gun. The thing is dead straight and no issues with the fit and finish. The one thing I have done to the gun was replace the Hogue handuards with a set of Russian laminate. The Hogue stuff is really comfortable but I have always loved the way classic wood AK's look. I haven't shot it yet but so far this thing is awesome. I have a DDI built AK74 and they hit that build out of the park as well. Overall I am super stoked about this gun and you would be hard pressed to find a better AK out there for the money.

Con's:
The only thing I can say would be that I would have liked to receive a mag with the gun. Also, DDI doesn't finish the bolt on their guns anymore, don't know why, but it isn't that big of deal cause it will just come off with use anyway.

PS: The handguards weren't that hard to mount only a little filing and fitting was all that it took. If you want pictures of that just PM me.

I feel your pain, I think I got the last one because after the order went through they were out of stock. Atlantic just got these in though....

DDI just sent is some AK47 Fixed stock rifles with the Atlantic Arms BakeLite Style furniture .

Makes me kinda mad that I dropped almost a G after the sdros and transfer fee for my c39v2 when I can get a gorgeous, well built AK for under 800. I think my Century is beautiful since Ive added the Midwest Handguard, stubby grip and sling (and soon a red dot), but lets be real. They cheaped out on the most important parts of the rifle.
