First AR Purchase

This is an amazing forum, I have been able to find answers to many of my questions. I would love some feed back on a few ARs that I have narrowed down, I know this is a subjective question, but I just want to make sure I am not overlooking something. Below is a list of the ARs that I like in my price range. I am looking at online retailers which are not very specific on which of them are California legal. I have checked them out against the flow chart and none of them appear. I know that they must have a bullet button and a magazine of no more than 10 rounds. I am unsure if there are any other disqualifications than this. Here is what I am looking at,

If the gun isn't on the list and if it comes with a BB, then you're go to go. Besides, your FFL will make sure the gun is CA-legal prior to it's being DROSED. So if there is any problem, they would tell you anyway.

If you're buying it online and have it transferred to you local FFL, make sure you talk to your FFL first. Have them checked out what you're about to buy. Do this first because guns are not something that can be easily returned, whether that's your fault or not. At best, restocking fee is high. At worst, no refund at all. So be sure to run it by your FFL first prior to paying.

As for your list, I own a DB AR pistol, which is pretty much similar to the long gun with a 10.5 in barrel. It's a DI gun, shoots well, never gives me any problem. It ate everything I fed, including steel case and bulk, which I shoot 90% of the time.

Narrowing

So I have narrowed the selection down to two, The Aero Precision AC-15 and the Colt 6920. Both models striped are about 200.00 difference, my question, is the Colt worth the extra money?

Performance wise, probably not.

If the AC-15 you're looking at has the nitrided (QPQ) barrel then it'd definitely be worth looking at.

Colt is worth the extra cash. Just the roll marks on the lower is worth a lot to some folks. Why buy a copy? Get a Colt. You will be glad you did.

So I have narrowed the selection down to two, The Aero Precision AC-15 and the Colt 6920. Both models striped are about 200.00 difference, my question, is the Colt worth the extra money?

Colt's quality is excellent. The 6920 is regarded as a top tier rifle and one that you can hand down to your kids one day if you take care of it. It will also be easier to sell if you ever want to. You could also get the 6920 OEM 1 or 2 and finish it off however you want if you wanted to pick your own stock, handguards, etc.

What everyone said is true, my first AR-15 was a Colt with the M4A1 rollmark and KAC rail. Could have gone easier on the wallet, but I really wanted it.
