    .22LR Upper

Looking for a 22lr upper for the Ar-15. Who has good luck with what? Also is it legal to have a detachable mag with it?

Gee, good question. Perhaps you should reference this handy dandy flow chart so you can answer your own question with minimal effort.

It's rimfire so AW restrictions don't apply. The only thing you need to worry about is the Federal 26" OAL requirement for rifles.

I just noticed on the flow chart, it doesn't list anything about rimfire. When it passes all other areas, when it goes to the MMG, U-15 and others the rimfire verbiage should be in there also.

The flowchart is specific about semi-automatic, centerfire. If your rimfire rifle doesn't fit those requirements, then it's likely not an AW (with min 26" length, semi-auto, no grenade launcher).

Oh, ok. I didn't know if it was specifically centerfire stuff but now it makes a little more sense that its not on there. I'm gonna have to get a velocity el-cheapo upper and try that bad boy out.

I have a model 1 sales .22 upper and it is great. I have put 4000 rounds through it with only 3 misfeeds. I use black dog mags. I ran 1100 rounds through it consecutively once, without cleaning it and it never jammed once.
