Sig MPX VIOLENT ejection

I was standing next to someone shooting an MPX on the rifle range yesterday and I got hit is the head by a spent 9mm brass incredibly hard. My friend who had never been shooting was standing behind me and got hit with one in the hand that cut her pretty bad.

I can't believe that the MPX ejects this hard. I had my MP5 out on the same trip and it was throwing brass less than half as far as the MPX. Does anyone have one of these? Is this normal for this platform? Does the brass get totally destroyed??

There's this explosion that happens in the chamber, sorta like an engine. The leftover gas drives the bolt back and the ejector flings the cartridge. Seems legit.

Stand next to a PSL sometime. It throws steel cartridges about 10 yards straight horizontally.

Yeah, my g3 clones throw them about 10yrds. But that is a 308. This is a 9mm. I was just wondering if this is normal for this. platform

With something that has as short of an action as an MPX this seems reasonable. I shot my friend's MPX SBR and while I wasn't paying attention to where the brass was going, I don't seem to remember stepping all over it either.

This was the pistol version so same deal. I guess I will just stand WAY clear if I ever see one out there again. Not the best feature if you are reloading.

My MPX throws brass in the 2 o'clock direction, pretty far. I wasn't able to pick up any of the spent casings.... but from what you described I think its normal.
