Make sure the scope exit pupil is around 4mm or more. Exit pupil can be calculated by taking the objective measurement divided by the magnification.

My research has lead me to beleive they increase reliability and make the gun quieter...

I highly recommend the Mueller APV scope. I have it on my 10/22 build and am very happy with it, especially for the price. A lot of good reviews of it at Rimfire Central.

i spent about $600 including the rifle. sounds like alot, but when you're able to group .22lr ammo out to 100 yards, it's well worth it!

Your research lead you to a company that makes/sells them.

The bolt is supposed to bounce off the steel pin.
The website above says that ruger only uses a steel pin because it's cheaper, but he fails to mention that the polyeurathane piece would have been even cheaper than the steel.
Lots of reports of problems after putting in a buffer, but believe what you want.

I've seen ar15's .22 and it is very nice. Makes my .22 look ghetto. haha

But thanks again for the scope!

I was never that impressed with Shaw barrels until I bought this one:

The total price with shipping was $87.00. I'm not betting on it grouping 1 MOA at 100 yards (or whether I'm capable of it, for that matter) yet. Time and weather permitting, and a better scope mounted, and we'll see. The preliminary results at 25 yards were encouraging - one ragged hole once sighted in with a cheap inexpensive scope. Only mods to this rifle are the barrel, a Hogue stock, a B-Square rail and the aforementioned cheap budget scope .

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

1moa groups at 25 rarely translate into 1moa groups at 50 and never translate into 1moa groups at 100 when dealing with 22 rimfires.
