Double fail for buying it AT the range - way to pay the 100% markup sucker tax.
TRIPLE fail for driving from Agoura all the way to Angeles range - should have just gone up to Piru. Better yet, you could have gone up the 23 thru Simi on your way to Angeles and swung by a walmart there or Ft Courage to buy your ammo at a much better price.
I had 100 rounds but I thought that wasn't enough since a buddy of mine was coming. And I always drive up the 23if I go to Walmart (Simi Valley). That's where the guy didn't sell it to me when I just bought from there 2 days before. It was a waste of gas since I never got the ammo. Ahh.. Live and learn, next time I go there I won't have a problem buying them. I will be prepared. The thing that got me frustrated was that I bought from them days before and the same guy was there.

On a lighter note, I shot my 91/30 for the first time and was hitting the metal plates out to 200 yards. I know you guys probably hit better distances but it felt vindicating to know that my Mosin won't blow up on my face and it can hit something at least 200 yards away.

And my grouping on the 10/22 is pretty good, still need to perfectly dial it in. The "Federal Champion" I bought would jam 1/6 times. Is it the gun since its new or the ammo? Cuz it was a pain to put the bolt back in since the spring was stiff.

But yes, I suppose I am noobish...

I didn't really plan on going until I woke up.. That's my fault. I'm still new to this hobby and learning everything. I don't have a mentor to show me what to do but I learn from fellow shooters who give me a helping hand at the range.

No, it is not the gun. I had the same problem with my 10/22 until I found the right ammo that my gun likes, which is the Aguila ammo.

Does it matter how much grain the bullet has when it comes to .22?

.22's are many times extremely finicky when it comes to ammo. You just need to buy different ammo types and find what functions and shoots the best for you.

I've had issues with the cheap "Federal Champion" ammo. Since I've switched to using the federal value pack stuff, it's been smooth sailing from there.

I use to buy and use Blazer "Sidewinder" high velocity 22lr. It worked great in all my 22lr firearms, but now I can't find any.
