Awesome build op!!!!! Doesn't look like you need a new trig from your pics. Hand loads to your build will help out with shrinking your groups but if that were me I'd be ecstatic with those results. As far as glass goes, it depends what type of shooting you'll be doing..target/competition, hunting, plinking??.. For competition I would think you'll want something with major zoom like a 42x50mm. For hunting or shooting steel/plinking you don't need anything above 14xzoom with a 40mm objective. No need for the extra weight.

Very nice build OP... 3x9 or 4x12 should do most of what you want... Scopes get real spendy past that.. Can you get a cheek on your stock with that high riser and high (?) rings ???.. Looks about as high as my scope on my carry handle,, and I can get about a chin weild.. Good shooting though !!!

It's all the way in like Nedro says - it's got a knob on it so it can be gripped easier. Ebay special.

That's the main issue right now - cheek weld. I wear Howard Leight hearing protection doubled with foam earplugs, and the Leights bump into the high comb on the stock. I tried mounting the scope without the riser and couldn't get a good view. (The rings are some Burris Signature High 30mm with those plastic inserts that give you +/- 20MOA).

Im sure there are kydex risers you can buy but some craft store foam and tape will do the trick. And maybe get some lower profile ear muffs.

I been using a Delta cheek riser similar to the one I found on google images and it works good for me.

If i'm looking at the picture correctly, the rings you have won't work on a flat top upper because of the objective of the scope - correct? So you used the riser.

I would suggest getting rid of both the riser and those rings and buying a one piece mount so that you don't have to jerry rig it.

As mentioned, I threw that scope on because I really, really wanted to see how it shot. It admittedly looks goofy, but at least the groups are pretty good!

I'll look at the mount Hoss suggests. Maybe a cheekpiece as a plan B. Thanks.

The real problem is, the cans on my hearing protection prevent me from getting my eye down low enough to see well through the scope when it's mounted lower.

If I were just wearing in-ear protection, it would be fine with just the rings, but I like to double up.
