I despise CLP as a cleaner and lubricant. It's no better a cleaner than say M-Pro7. As a lubricant, it gums up with dust and/or carbon fouling.
But as a preservative, though, it's excellent.
I use M-Pro 7 for cleaning (except the bore). Militec-1 for bolt lubricant.
Militec-1 as a lubricant on the BCG results in a BCG that is easier to clean after the gun was fired, than if CLP had been used, from my experience.

it's good for apartment dwellers who can't clean outside, too.

I don't know why everyone has such a hardon for CLP, its a mediocre cleaner and a mediocre lubricant. CLP was designed to be an all-in-one product and it is a master of none. There are way better lubes out there.Comment

Before you clean a barrel with ANYTHING that contains teflon, you should talk to top rifle builders and/or top barrel makers. They will tell you not to introduce any teflon product into your barrel (unless they just want more work. When a barrel is fouled with teflon build up, it is cheaper to replace the barrel than to clean the teflon out.
That said, I will use CLP on anything other than a rifled bore.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor
