Not at all, CLP is good stuff, I use it on all my hardware, too bad that sometimes it is hard to find.

I despise CLP as a cleaner and lubricant. It's no better a cleaner than say M-Pro7. As a lubricant, it gums up with dust and/or carbon fouling.

But as a preservative, though, it's excellent.

I use M-Pro 7 for cleaning (except the bore). Militec-1 for bolt lubricant.

Militec-1 as a lubricant on the BCG results in a BCG that is easier to clean after the gun was fired, than if CLP had been used, from my experience.

it's good for apartment dwellers who can't clean outside, too.

As long as you don't use the aerosol product. The overspray on CLP aerosol is horrendous. It gets all over the place within the cone of fire.

I agree, I always buy the dropper bottle.

                        I meant M-Pro 7.

I don't know why everyone has such a hardon for CLP, its a mediocre cleaner and a mediocre lubricant. CLP was designed to be an all-in-one product and it is a master of none. There are way better lubes out there.

Before you clean a barrel with ANYTHING that contains teflon, you should talk to top rifle builders and/or top barrel makers. They will tell you not to introduce any teflon product into your barrel (unless they just want more work. When a barrel is fouled with teflon build up, it is cheaper to replace the barrel than to clean the teflon out.

That said, I will use CLP on anything other than a rifled bore.
