    Are Geissele SD3G CA legal?

    Hey everyone!

New guy here, and I'm trying to learn the gun laws before buying a AR-15 down the road. I see the Tac Con 3MR's are considered illegal in CA, but I'm not sure about the Geissele triggers (specially the SD3G) are these illegal as well? I ask, just because I'd like to be able to use a better trigger for small burst shots at a gun range.

    Thanks for you help!

Ok, I believe you guys, however where can I find the proof regarding these triggers online? It would just make me feel better and more confident if anyone questions me at a firing range.

^Why would anyone question the legality of an AR trigger? Too much FUD...

truth is, you don't believe us. why would the SD3G be illegal?

I bought mine at a local gun store...and bought another online...If it's illegal they wouldn't ship it to you or sell it at a lgs

Easy, guys... I've never owned a gun before, ok? I don't think it's unreasonable to ask where I can find the proof. On another thread here, someone claimed that Tac Com 3MR triggers are illegal in CA. Frankly, I don't know what to believe.

The logic diagram (pdf) was very helpful regarding explaining what makes a legal and illegal AR-15 generally. It just didn't cover or state anything about specialty triggers.

Look, I'm new here. Cut me some slack.

The SD3G is not a specialty trigger. It operates the same as any standard AR trigger.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

It's not a multi-burst or automatic fire trigger. You still have to make a full trigger pull in order to shoot a round. It falls into a legal definition of a semi-auto trigger. I am not sure what kind of proof you are looking for, but you may inquire one from the manufacturer.

I don't recommend it to a new shooter. It's too light for a novice IMO.

Save your $$ and get plenty of trigger time (i.e., a few thousand rounds), take a carbine class or two, learn your system, then choose what fits your budget and needs.
