The stock is a POS and has got to go. It's too light making follow up shots difficult and flexes a lot under sling tension. Get a nice GI M14 stock and thank me later. Take some Krylon and go Woodland on that factory stock and put it away... forever. Truly, it's a horrible stock.

They WERE selling for $999.95. Turners had about 35 or so on sale a few weeks ago.

Good to know. I would like a wood stock just for looks.

The M 14 - M1a is one fine looking rifle. You need to buy the surplus wood stock even if you do not install it for a while.Somebody makes a wood hand guard , it was on the one i had and it is very handsome.
            Enjoy the rifle.

Nice. My Socom has the same issue with loading. I can't load a full mag with the bolt forward.

Boyds makes a wooden handguard for the M1A/M14 style rifle. I got mine from Sarco, though they are now out of stock. But, the hand gaurds are only made in walnut, so if you get a birch stock it won't match.
                My rifles with wooden handguards.

10 round magazine limiters for most rifle and pistol magazines. The original Magblock limiter for Magpul PMags and USGI magazines converts 20 and 30 round magazines to hold only 10 rounds. Useful where regulations and hunting laws limit capacity to 10 rounds.

It is not illegal if they were owned prior to 2000, and they are used in a featureless long gun. Stop spreading liberal fear and helping the anti's movement.

Loaded has a better barrel, sights and tuned trigger for a few bucks more than a standard. Other than a McMillan stock, this "Loaded" model served me well.

If you're only going to get one, get the Loaded model.
